Three Things That Will Move Your Beauty Business Forward This Summer

The summer holidays are here.

And if you are a mum building a beauty business, you probably already know what that means.

Shorter working hours. Kids at home. Childcare to figure out.

Energy that feels stretched in every direction.

And a business that still needs attention even when life is at its most full.

BUT summer does not have to mean your beauty business stands still.

Here are three things that will actually move your beauty business forward right now, even with limited time and a house full of children...

One: Get clear on exactly who you want to attract

Not a vague idea of your target audience. A specific person.

What treatments does she want? What does she value in a therapist? What makes her choose one person over another? What does she worry about when it comes to her skin, her nails, her appearance?

Most beauty therapists skip this step because narrowing down feels counterintuitive. Surely speaking to more people means reaching more clients?

Actually the opposite is true.

When your content, your marketing and your messaging speaks to absolutely everyone, it connects with no one. Because no one feels like it was written specifically for them.

But when you speak directly to one specific person, she stops scrolling. She feels understood. She thinks this therapist gets me. And that feeling is what makes her book.

Spend some time this summer getting really clear on who your ideal client is. Write it down. Get specific. And then let that clarity inform everything you post and everything you say about your business online.

It will pay off for months and years after.

Two: Ask every single client for a Google review

This is the simplest, most powerful and completely free thing you can do for your beauty business right now.

And most beauty therapists never do it.

Google reviews build trust with people who have never met you. They help new clients find you when they search for a therapist in your area. They show up when someone is deciding between you and the person down the road. They do the selling for you while you sleep.

A warm client who has just left your treatment room feeling amazing is the perfect moment to ask. Make it as easy as possible. Send a direct link in your follow up text. Have a QR code on your aftercare cards. Remove every barrier between them and leaving you that review.

One review a week through the summer months. That is all it takes to build something that changes how new clients find you for years.

Three: Show your face online at least once a week

Not a before and after. Not a flat lay of your products. Not your kit spread out on a towel.

You. Your face. Your voice. Talking directly to the person you want to attract to your treatment room.

Here is something most beauty therapists do not fully realise. People do not book the most technically skilled therapist they can find. They book the person they feel like they know. The one whose face they have seen enough times to feel familiar. Whose voice they recognise. Whose values they understand before they have ever set foot in the treatment room.

That connection does not come from perfect content. It comes from consistent, real, human content.

Even once a week, done consistently through summer, builds more trust with potential clients than daily polished portfolio posts ever could.

It does not need to be long. Thirty seconds to camera talking honestly about something your ideal client cares about is enough. The point is showing up as yourself, consistently, so the right people can find you and feel like they already know you before they book.

Three things. None of them require hours of your time. All of them compound the longer you do them consistently.

Get clear on your ideal client.

Ask for Google reviews.

Show your face online once a week.

Start with one this week. Then add the next.

By the end of the summer you will have built habits that keep working for your beauty business long after the school holidays are over.

And if you want help building a proper strategy around all three, something that fits your actual summer hours and your actual life as a mum in the beauty industry, that is exactly what I work through with beauty business owners in my mentoring sessions and Power Hour calls.

You can find out more by getting in touch directly. I would love to help you make this summer count for your business.
